#1 Microsoft CoPilot

          Creation, Teacher Tool

          No Training Required

How I Might Use It

Using CoPilot, I redesigned learning experiences by moving beyond traditional PowerPoint presentations and creating a list of alternative presentation ideas to engage student audience members and enhance student presenter knowledge. These included alternative presentation styles, such as TED Talk, Interactive Webinars, Trade Show Booth, and Interactive Webinars. This approach aligns with ISTE Student Standard 1.1B, "Customized Learning Environments," by providing students with diverse options to express their understanding in ways that suit their learning preferences. Additionally, it supports ISTE Educator Standard 2.5.b, "Design Authentic Learning Activities," by creating opportunities for students to engage in meaningful, real-world tasks.

By offering alternatives to traditional PowerPoint presentations, students are encouraged to apply their knowledge in practical and relevant contexts. CoPilot also assists in guiding students through the creation process, offering templates, design suggestions, and real-time feedback to improve their work. By incorporating these innovative presentation methods, students are more engaged and motivated, leading to a deeper understanding of the subject matter. This holistic approach not only enhances the learning experience but also fosters critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration among students, preparing them for future academic and professional endeavors.

#2 Brisk Teaching

          Higher Ed - Adult

          All Subjects

          Assessment, Teacher Tool

          Some Training Required

How I Might Use It

Pre-service teacher education students and current teachers can use Brisk Teaching to provide comprehensive feedback on lesson plans, focusing on "glows, grows, and wonders." This method involves highlighting strengths (glows), identifying areas for improvement (grows), and posing questions or curiosities (wonders) to encourage further reflection and development. Brisk's AI-powered tools can generate targeted, personalized feedback quickly and efficiently, ensuring that feedback is both constructive and actionable. Pre-service teachers can revise their lesson plans based on this feedback, incorporating suggestions for improvement and addressing any questions raised.

Additionally, Brisk supports self-reflection by providing prompts and guiding questions that help educators critically evaluate their own teaching practices. The platform also offers alternative ideas and resources, such as templates, design suggestions, and real-time feedback, to enhance lesson plans. This approach aligns with ISTE Student Standard 1.1c, "Feedback to Improve Practice," by promoting continuous improvement through meaningful feedback. In addition to aligning with ISTE Educator Standard 2.5.b, “Design Authentic Learning Activities,” it also supports ISTE Educator Standard 2.6.a, "Foster Student Ownership of Learning," by encouraging educators to take an active role in their professional growth and development. By engaging in this reflective practice, teachers can enhance their instructional strategies, create more effective lesson plans, and ultimately improve student learning outcomes.
