#1 Amira Learning

          K - 5

          ELA

          Assessment, Teacher Tool, Tutoring

          Some Training Required

How I Might Use It

In my 1st grade classroom, Amira is a tool that is aligned with the Science of Reading that I use to build students' reading skills and fluency. Since Amira is a reading assistant (AI), students are reading at their reading level and practicing skills that they need. Differentiation of instruction is all done with the power of Amira since she is able to assess, instruct, and tutor. Finally, the reports that Amira provides allow me to track progress, create small groups, listen to each student's reading, and send home parent tips/suggestions.

This aligns with the ISTE Educator Standard "Design Authentic Learning Activities" as students engage with AI technology that helps them maximize learning by building on foundational reading skills and fluency. Each day they use Amira, they review and build upon these skills.

#2 Raz-Kids

          K - 3

          ELA

          Assessment, Teacher Tool, Tutoring

          Some Training Required

How I Might Use It

In the classroom, Raz-Kids allows students to read online at their reading level. Students listen to a story, re-read the story, and answer questions on the stories. Students have a variety of books at each level to read. This aligns with the ISTE Educator Standard "Design Authentic Learning Activities" and the ISTE Student Standard "Empowered Learner” since students are taking an active role in choosing the books that they would like to listen to and re-read. Students are then showing their skills in their learning goal of which level they are on. Once students have completed tasks on the level, they are able to move to the next level. In addition, Raz-Kids has activities and lessons that teachers can use per book.
