How I Might Use It

Canva has a feature called Whiteboard that effectively supports ISTE Standard for Educators 2.4.c "Use Collaborative Tools" and Student Standard 1.7.d by fostering collaborative exploration and solution-finding for local and global issues. Students can visually brainstorm and organize ideas, conduct collaborative research, develop and present solutions, and receive peer feedback all within the platform. This can be applied to various projects, such as researching environmental problems, investigating global health crises, or exploring social justice movements. By utilizing Canva Whiteboard's features like sticky notes, embedded links, drawing tools, and commenting, students can effectively collaborate, communicate, and create impactful projects that address real-world challenges. They can even use AI to help them organize their sticky notes into common threads.

How I Might Use It

ISTE Standard for Educators 2.4.c "Use Collaborative Tools" and Student Standard 1.7.c "Project Teams" emphasize collaborative learning through digital tools. While Kamiapp.com enhances teamwork by enabling students to annotate shared documents, providing real-time feedback and fostering a sense of shared progress. Students can upload project documents and use Kami's annotation tools to brainstorm, take notes, and provide feedback directly on the document. This streamlines communication and allows everyone to see changes instantly. When integrated with an LMS, teachers can monitor progress and provide additional feedback.

Kamiapp.com enhances collaborative learning by facilitating efficient communication and real-time feedback within student project teams. If used with Canva Whiteboard feature, the Whiteboard can be downloaded as a PDF and uploaded into Kami so that teams could have the brainstorming notes from the whole class and then work in groups to narrow down their thinking. Students can also work with other classes from within their district, state, county, or around the world on this platform as well. What is particularly nice is that the teacher can choose the tools the students will use and the teacher can hover over each element on Kami to see who has added the text, image, etc. to the project. The comments, text, etc. are saved for a long time as well for projects that happen over time.
